For the second year in a row, the E-SPORTS Gaming Pavilion will return to QuakeCon.
Starting July 31, 2008, the Gaming Pavilion will host free mini-tournaments, shoot-outs, contests and product giveaways for games including QUAKE 3, QUAKE 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Warcraft 3 and Call of Duty 4.
The QuakeCon 2008 Gaming Pavilion sponsors include PNY Technologies, SteelSeries, Cyber Power and Cooler Master. Each company will have their latest products being featured in their corner display areas, and each will be awarding an amazing amount of product prizes.
QuakeCon began in 1996 as a LAN party dedicated to fans of id Software's games, but has grown to include all types of gaming and computer hardware enthusiasts. The 3.5 day event enjoys continued success, growing from a small gathering of less than 100 players in 1996 to now over 6,000 attendees per year. With nearly 160,000 square feet of event space, QuakeCon will feature the nations largest BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) LAN party with space for 3,000 players, 12,000 feet of exhibit space, high-stakes tournaments, keynotes, hardware launches, press conferences, plus nightly entertainment and parties.

During the North American Season, six CGS franchises will compete in a twelve game regular season and playoff that is broadcasted live on DirecTV's Channel 101 as well as a live online stream via www.thecgs.com.
Other CGS franchises compete in regional championships that are recorded for post-production and aired on BskyB and STAR networks. The top teams from the North American Regular Season will then meet up with the top teams from Latin America, UK / Europe, and Pan-Asian regions to battle it out for global gaming supremacy and their piece of a $1,000,000 purse.
E-SPORTS is providing its Broadcast Application, a team of professional video game event administrators, plus custom event technologies. This allows us to provide the highest level of quality control and tournament management for this event.
E-SPORTS will be running the CGS franchise matches that include Counter-Strike: Source (PC), FIFA 08 (PC), Dead or Alive 4 (Xbox 360), and Forza Motorsport 2 (Xbox360). Our Broadcast Application puts custom jerseys (unique colors, names and numbers) on each player in game, custom camera angles, plus other tools to enhance the Counter-Strike broadcasts.

Games-Services and E-SPORTS SERVICES announced today the kick-off of the Electronic Sports World Cup US Qualifiers, which will be played online from April 14th to June 5th, 2008. The winners of the qualifying tournaments will represent the USA at the 6th edition of the ESWC Grand Final 2008 taking place in the Official Host City of San Jose, California from August 25th to 27th.
The Grand Final will gather 800 champions from over 50 countries with the support of NVIDIA, the Main and Worldwide Partner. Tournament spots are limited and registration begins March 24th for all game disciplines. Matches will be played starting April 7th. More than 1,200 top-level video game players will battle during two months on secured servers for a chance to win a spot on Team USA.

The combine will be followed by a draft event where the General Managers will select professional gamers for their team franchises to compete in the 2008 CGS season.
